Louise Julie de Mailly-Nesle

Louise Julie de Mailly-Nesle , born in 1710 and died in Paris in 1751, was a favorite of Louis XV. It was the girl of Louis III of Mailly-Nesle (1689 - 1767) and of his wife Armande Félice of the Door Mazarin (1691 - 1729), itself grand-daughter of Hortense Mancini and back-small-niece of Mazarin. She became the mistress of Louis XV about 1733, but their adultery was known of the public only about 1737, after the birth of the 10th child of the king. Mrs. de Mailly was favorite discrete, respectful of the queen. She was supplanted successively by her two sisters, Pauline Félicité on Mailly-Nesle, countess of Vintimille (1735) and Marie-Anne de Mailly-Nesle, marchioness of the Small tower.

She died in piety and poverty in 1751 in Paris.
