Louise Adelaide of Orleans (1698-1743)
Was Marie Louise Adelaide of Orleans , known as “Miss d' Orléans”, born with Versailles the August 13rd 1698 and died in Paris the 10 (or 19?) February 1743.
Girl of Philippe of Orleans (1674-1723), duke of Chartres, future Duke of Orleans and Régent of the kingdom, and of Francoise Marie de Bourbon (1677-1749), it was abbess of Chelles in 1719. Impassioned music, from theology and sciences - it was interested in particular in the surgery - it passed for very spiritual.
Though Saint-Simon says of it which it had of nun only the dress, Louis Racine composed these worms on its entry with the convent:
-
Pleasure, beauty, youth, honors, glory, power,
- Ambitious hope which the birth allows,
- All with the foot of the Lamb by it was immolé.
