Louis of Lorraine (1500-1528)

Louis of Lorraine , born with Bar-le-Duc the April 27th 1500, dead the August 23rd 1528, was bishop of Verdun of 1508 with 1522, then count de Vaudémont. It was wire of Rene II, duke of Lorraine and of Bar, and Philippe de Gueldre.

Intended for the church, it is equipped in 1508 with évêché with Verdun and 1512 with the abbey with Saint-Mihiel. In 1520, it attends the interview of the Camp of the Gold Cloth. and gives up its ecclesiastical career in 1522, and takes the title of count de Vaudémont. It accompanies the king de France François Ier in Italy and combat in Pavia in 1525. It tries without success to release the king during the transfer of this last out of the Milanese. It takes part in another forwarding against the Royaume of Naples, but falls ill during the seat of Naples and dies.
