Louis de Sancerre

Louis de Sancerre (1341/2- 1403), Constable of France, Marshal of France, lord of Boisgibault, Bommiers, Cop, Charenton, Charpignon, Luzy, Menetou-Living room and Sagonne, wire of the count Louis II and Béatrix de Roucy.

Born into 1341/2, it made its first weapons at the time of the victorious defense of the town of Sancerre, attacked by a company carried out by the English captain Jean Aymery, at the seventeen years age, beside its brothers Jean and Robert. Marshal of France: 1368-1397

Louis assisted the constable Of Guesclin and Olivier de Clisson in their conquest of Guyenne. He rendered great services to the king Charles V who created it Marshal of France the June 20th 1368 to protect Paris, his capital threatened by Gascon and English companies. He made his will on February 4th and died of a long illness Tuesday February 6th 1403. Louis was buried the February 19th in the Basilique of Saint-Denis, of the left side of the vault Saint-Jean-Baptist, vault of the king Charles V, under the vault of the “great rise which goes to the chœu” ". Its lying of white marble, was formerly on a black marble flagstone. Its funeral was celebrated solemnly in the presence of the dukes of Burgundy and Orleans and a great number of barons .
