Louis de Carné

Louis-Joseph de Carné , count de Carné Marcein (February 17th 1804 with Quimper - February 11th 1876 with Plomelin) is a politician, journalist and historian French.

Founder of the newspaper the Correspondent in 1829, general adviser of the Finistere, he is collaborator with the Journal of the debates and with the Revue of the two worlds and one of the founders of the charitable Company of economy and the international Company of the practical studies of social economy. Supported by the opponents with the Second Empire (Montalembert, Dupanloup, Guizot), he is elected member of the French Academy on April 23rd, 1863, with the third ballot, against Emile Littré.
