With its birth he is declared with the Spanish civil statue (birth certificate n° 4191, on May 24th 1974) as “S.A.R. Don Shine-Alfonso of Borbón there Martínez-Bordiú”, then its birth certificate was transcribed the March 16th 1994 with the French civil statue like “Louis Alphonse of Bourbon”, while the French administration delivered to him a national card of identity in the name of “S.A.R. of Bourbon, duke of Anjou, Louis Alphonse”. Louis de Bourbon has since his birth the French dual nationality (inherited his/her father, born French as wire from a Frenchwoman, Emmanuelle of Dampierre) and Spanish (inherited his/her father and its mother).

Louis de Bourbon is the second wire of Alphonse of Bourbon (1936 - 1989) and of his wife Carmen Martínez-Bordiú there Franco (born in 1951), girl of Cristóbal Martínez-Bordiú, 10th marquis de Villaverde, and of Carmen Franco there Polo, large duchess of Free, of Spain.

He is baptized (with the qualification of Royal Altesse and the first names Louis Alphonse Gonzalve Victor Emmanuel Marc) in the religion roman catholic the May 3rd 1974 with the royal palace of Pardo, close to Madrid, with like godfather his grandfather paternal (absent with the ceremony and represented by Gonzalve de Bourbon) and like godmother his great-grandmother maternal Carmen Polo there Martínez-Valdés (the wife of Francisco Franco).

Initially titrated by his/her father “duke of Touraine” the September 19th 1981, Louis Alphonse of Bourbon was then titrated “duke of Bourbon” the September 27th 1984, following the accidental death of his/her older brother François de Bourbon (1972 - 1984).

After its baccalaureat obtained with the French college of Madrid, it continues academic works in economic scenes and financial and obtains Master Finances some in Cunef. Recently, it took part in program MBA of a university. He usually speaks several languages, practices several sporting disciplines, in particular horsemanship, the hockey, swimming and the sports shirt. He takes part regularly in regattas.

After the death of his/her father in a tragedy accident of ski (it was mortally wounded with the neck by a wire rope which was tended through the track) to the the United States the January 30th 1989, it becomes (by excluding the branch of “Bourbon Busset”, illegitimate since resulting from a natural son of Louis de Bourbon, prince-bishop of Liege) the elder one of the legitimate descendants of Hugues Capet, of holy Louis, Henri IV and Louis XIV, recalling, in a declaration of the April 19th 2000, being “the successor of kings de France”. He takes from now on as usual first name very short “Louis” and the February 2nd 1989, the title of courtesy of “duke of Anjou”, like had made his/her father in 1975 and its grandfather in 1946.

It Marie saturdays November 6th 2004 at 7 p.m., in the Saint-Stanislas church, with Romana (Dominican Republic) with María Margarita Vargas Santaella, resulting from a rich person family vénézuélienne. The press people retains especially that it carries the uniform of Baillif Grand Cross of devotion of the Ordre of Malta and the cord and the plate of the Ordre of the Holy Spirit, of which it is in partibus the “19th sovereign large-Master” (the Order of the Holy Spirit was removed in France in 1830, but this suppression by the king of the French Louis-Philippe is not recognized by the legitimists; the duke of Anjou had been received knight of the St-Spirit by his father in 1988). He settles with his wife with Caracas, where he works in the bank which his/her father-in-law directs.

Their first daughter, Eugenie, were born on March 5th, 2007 with Miami, then three months after, on Saturday, June 2, 2007, is baptized by the Apostolic nuncio in France, Fortunato Baldelli, with apostolic nonciature of Paris.

Since the death the May 27th 2000 of his/her uncle Gonzalve de Bourbon (1937 - 2000) and in the absence of a male descendant of Louis de Bourbon, the current heir apparent to the Maison of France is not other than Juan Carlos I {{er}} of Spain (born in 1938), first cousin of its father. This astonishing situation is not new since already in 1715 the heir apparent to Louis XV of France (1710 - 1774) was not other than his/her uncle Philippe V of Spain (1683 - 1746) and this, until the birth of Louis de France (1729 - 1765).

Louis de Bourbon is since the June 16th 1994 regular member of the Société of Cincinnati de France, where it represents Louis XVI of France, supreme leader of the French Armies at the time of the war of independence of the the United States of America, Louis being more the current close relative of Louis XVI by the males. The Company of Cincinnati de France gathers the descendants in male primogeniture of the French officers having fought at the sides of the Insurgents .

His/her grandfather, Jacques Henri de Bourbon (1908 - 1975), had given up the throne of Spain the July 19th 1969, with the profit of his nephew current Juan Carlos Ist This renunciation was accepted by his two sons the July 23rd 1969.

He counts two Spanish Heads of State among his four great-grandfathers: Alphonse XIII of Spain in its paternal ascent and Francisco Franco in her maternal ascent.

Dynastic quarrel

Louis de Bourbon is disputed like legitimate successor of the kings de France and Navarre by the orleanists, in favor of Henri of Orleans (1933-). Those assert in particular renunciations made at the time of the Traités of Utrecht (1713) by Philippe de France, ancestor direct of Louis de Bourbon, as of a “fusion” which would have intervened in 1883 with died of the “count de Chambord” between the orleanists and the legitimists of the time.

With the eyes of the orleanists and king d' Espagne, Louis de Bourbon is not “that” the excelentísimo señor gift Shine-Alfonso of Borbón there Martínez-Bordiú (i.e. Its Excellence Louis-Alphonse of Bourbon), the king of Spain Juan Carlos Ier recognizing any title to him or of courtesy nor the qualification of Royal Highness (qualification who is reproduced nevertheless on her Spanish birth certificate like on her French indentity card).

The legitimists rétorquent that Juan Carlos being a junior compared to Louis de Bourbon who is his elder, it is thus in Louis de Bourbon to recognize or not to recognize the titles and qualifications of Juan Carlos, and not the reverse. As for the orleanists, they deny in Louis de Bourbon his right to use the full weapons of France as well as the title of duke of Anjou, thus going against the decisions of the French court.

Titles

For the legitimists, Louis de Bourbon carries since 1989 the title of “king de France and Navarre” of right, under the name of “Louis XX”. He carries the titles of:

  • since 1989: “duke of Anjou” (title of courtesy)
  • since 1984: “duke of Bourbon” (title of courtesy)
  • of 1981 to 1984: “duke of Touraine” (title of courtesy)
  • Duke of Durazzo?

  • Count de Gravine and of Morrone?
  • titular King of Jerusalem?
  • titular King of Albania?
  • since 1989: recognized by certain carlists like legitimates it “king d' Espagne” (“Louis II”), in spite of the fact that he recognizes his cousin junior Juan Carlos Ier as king d' Espagne (following the letter signed dated July 19th, 1969 by the grandfather of Louis de Bourbon, and following the minutes approved on July 23rd, 1969 by the father of Louis de Bourbon, signatures by which Jacques Henri de Bourbon and Alphonse of Bourbon accepted the designation of Juan Carlos like future king d' Espagne, designation made by Francisco Franco)

  • Chef by the house of legitimate Bourbon
  • Aîné of Capétiens
  • Baillif Grand-Croix of Honor and Dévotion of the Ordre of Malta

As regards the titles of duke of Durazzo, count de Gravine and of Morrone and titular king of Albania, an author recently showed as Louis de Bourbon is the downward direct one, as well by Jacques de Bourbon, husband of the last queen angevine of Naples, titular queen of Albania and duchess of Durazzo (+ 1435) that by Robert de Navarre, husband of Jeanne de Durazzo (+ 1378), of the House royal of Albania, known as of Anjou-Durazzo, rested by Philippe Ier de Tarente, titular emperor of Constantinople and king d' Albanie (+ 1332), grandson of Charles Ier of Anjou, king de Naples and of Jerusalem, brother of Saint Louis, and brother of Jean of Anjou, duke of Durazzo (+ 1336).

The letters by which the autoproclamé king of the Albanians, Zog Ier, recognized in 1928 the heredity of the princely title of duke of Durazzo to the Fancy-Billecocq family do not have any legal authenticity, on the one hand because the constitution of the kingdom of Albania of September 1928 did not recognize the titles with Western, except those princely of the royal family, and on the other hand because the title of duke of Durazzo is constitutive of official titulature of the chief of the House of Anjou and Bourbon which only can decree it and that in accordance with the habits and with the feudal and dynastic right.
