Louis de Beauvau

Louis de Beauvau , lord of Tremblecourt , was the third wire of Claude de Beauvau, and his second wife Jeanne de Saint-Beaussant.

He stuck to the catholic Ligue, overcame in duel the lord of Touronne, which supported the house of Own way.

He took a great part in the wars of religion.

He joins with Henri IV, after the conversion of this one in 1593; he is made Maréchal of the battles, armies and camps of His Majesty.

Its Campaigns:

  • Wars of Italy
  • war in the Netherlands under the orders of Alexandre Farnèse, Prince de Parme
  • armed with the Duke of Mayenne to Turns in 1589, defense of Pontoise
  • Bataille of Arch, where it is made prisoner
  • war against the Spaniards in Franche-Comté; in 1595, it takes the places and towns of Joinville, Gray, Vesoul; the campaigns are devastated.
Later, it goes, with Vesoul, after three week of resistance, with the constable of Vélasco. The treated of Vervins finishes the conflict in 1598.

He died assassinated in Remiremont in 1596.
