Louis Simon of Ry

Simon Louis of Ry born in 1726 with Cassel and died in 1799 with Cassel. One of the most important German architects neo-classic.

Wire of the architect Charles of Ry and grandson of Paul of Ry, it was originating in a family of refugees huguenots come to put itself at the service of the margrave Charles de Hesse.

After a formation in Stockholm and a study trip in France and Italy, Simon returned in Cassel and it became in 1757 with dead of his father architect of the court.

After the War Seven Year old, the fortifications were cut down, having become useless. Large surfaces were then available to build the royal place, the Frederic place as well as the Fridericianum which remain its most important works today. The Fridericianum museum undergoes many criticisms on behalf of Claude-Nicolas Ledoux.
