Louis Rolls

Louis Roule is a zoologist French, born the December 20th 1861 with Marseilles and dead the July 30th 1942 with Versailles.

Of modest origin, his/her father is carpenter, he makes exceptionally fast university career. Chief of practical works at the school of Medicine at twenty years, it passes his doctorate of sciences to twenty-three years.

In 1885, he is lecturer to the Faculty of Science of Toulouse then in 1892, he obtains a pulpit of professor. In parallel, he also teaches the histology with Paris in 1886.

He obtains a title of doctor of medicine in Paris in 1902 and directs the following year a research station in marine biology which he created at the university of Toulouse.

In 1910, it replaces with the national Muséum of natural history of Paris Leon Vaillant (1834 - 1914) with the pulpit of zoology (reptiles and fish). In parallel, it directs the laboratory of Ichtyologie to the École of the high studies and teaches with the agronomic National institute. It chairs the zoological Société of France in 1913.

It is devoted initially to Invertébré S sailors then with the Poisson S.
