Louis Querbes
The father Louis Querbes (1793-1859) is priest and founder of the religious order known as Clercs of Saint-Viateur (C.S.V.). or of Viatoriens.
It founded this religious order in 1831 with Vourles (the Rhone) close to Lyon in France. It is cleaned parish of Vourles.
Ordered priest in 1816, it is named vicar with Saint-Nizier before joining the parish of Vourles (the Rhone) where it will remain until his death. It is from there, that between 1826 and 1831, it poses the bases of an association of catechists who will ensure the Christian education of the children and the tasks assigned to the " clerks paroissiaux": preparation of the offices, the songs,…. The pontifical approval given in 1838 creates the congregation of the clerks of Saint-Viateur. Intuition of the P. Querbes, which wanted to put at the honor collaboration with the laic ones was redécouverte since the council the Vatican II.
The newspaper the Cross of February 27th, 2006 announces that the cause in beatification of the P. Louis Querbes has just been open by the Cardinal Philippe Barbarin, archbishop of Lyon. See: Canonization.
