Louis Mortimer Ternaux

Louis Mortimer Ternaux , born with Paris the November 22nd 1808 and died in Beaumont-the-Furnace bridges the January 30th 1872, is a Historien and Politician French.

Nephew of the famous manufacturer of this name, named Member of the Commission of the national rewards, entered then with the Council of State, it takes part in his work in the capacity as Maître of the requests of 1837 with 1848. In May 1842, it collects with Rethel (the Ardennes) the parliamentary succession of Bertrand Clauzel.

After 1848, it represents the the Ardennes with the Constituante and the Législative and takes an active share with the discussions and the preliminary works of the committees. Member of the majority, it refuses to join the policy Elysium and protests against the Coup d'etat of December 2nd, 1851 and returns in the private life.

He is elected member of the Academy of Science morals and political in 1866. February 8th 1871, it is named with the National Assembly, the third on seven, by the voters of the the Ardennes.

Mortimer Ternaux is the author of monumental a Histoire of the Terreur in eight volumes published between 1862 and 1881.
