Louis Maurice of Trémoille

Louis-Maurice Abbot of Trémoïlle , born on June 8th 1624 with Isle-Bouchard and dead on June 25th 1681. He is the son of Henri III of Trémoïlle, 3rd duke of Thouars, and Marie of the Tower of Auvergne.

He was abbot of Saint-Saver of Charroux and Holy-Cross of Talmont.

He followed initially the military career and entered the orders then, like junior by family, while his/her older brother Henri Charles of Trémoille remained Protestant. He was at the same time abbot of Charroux and Talmont. Equipped into 1665 with this second abbey, it was rained to make its residence there, rebuilt the buildings of them, and died there the June 25th 1681. It was a man of letters, amateur of books and objets d'art, of which it had gathered a rather many collection.
