Louis Ier of Savoy
Louis Ier of Savoy , born the February 21st 1413, dead the January 29th 1465, was duke of Savoy, prince de Piémont, count d' Aoste and of Maurienne of 1439 with 1465. It was wire of Amédée VIII, duke of Savoy, prince de Piémont, count d' Aoste and of Maurienne, and Bonne of Bourbon.
As of 1434, it managed the states of his/her father under the title of prince de Piémont . This one, indeed, after its widowhood, gave up its ducal functions to turn to the religion. He was elected (anti) pope in 1439, then abdicating duchy in favor of his son.
He had to undergo the intrigues of the Cypriot entourage of his wife but also the ambitions of his French and Milanese neighbors. He thus had to give up the Valentinois and could not seize the duchy of Milan with died of the last Visconti.
September 13rd, 1452, the duke Louis Ier of Savoy and his wife Anne de Lusignan, buy the relic of the Holy Shroud in Jeanne de Charny against the castle of Varambon.
He married with Chambéry on November 1st 1433 Anne de Lusignan, (1419 † 1462), girl of Janus, king de Chypre and of Jerusalem, and Charlotte of Bourbon. They had:
