Louis Ier of Hungary

Louis Ier Large the (in Hungarian Nagy Lajos , in Polish Ludwik Wegierski, Andegawenski - of Anjou ), born the March 5th 1326, dead the September 10th 1382 with Trnava (Slovakia), king de Hongrie of 1342 with 1382 and king de Pologne of 1370 with 1382, wire of Charles Ier Robert of Anjou, king de Hongrie, and of Elisabeth of Poland.

Biography

With died of his/her uncle Casimir III Large the, it is elected and crowned king de Pologne the November 17th 1370, but quickly leaves the capacity with his/her daughter Marie and her husband Sigismond of Luxembourg. The same year, it has for vassal the Prince of Serbia Lazar Hrebeljanović thus preparing an alliance against the Turkish threat.

The Great Schism of Occident occurs in 1378. A third war against Venice is started and Louis conquers all Dalmatie and the war ends in the Traité of Turin (August 18th 1381).

Louis dies the following year. His/her daughter Marie and her husband take the crown of Hungary, but were disputed by Charles de Durazzo, while his/her other daughter Jadwiga girds the crown of Poland.

Genealogy

He married in first weddings the August 3rd 1342 Marguerite of Luxembourg (1335 † 1349), girl of Charles IV, Germanic emperor, and of White of Valois, but did not have a child.

Widower, it remaria with Cracow the June 20th 1353 with Elisabeth of Bosnia (1340 † 1387), girl of Etienne II Kotromanic, round of applause of Bosnia, and Elisabeth de Cujave, and had:
