Louis Ier of Blois-Châtillon

Louis Ier († 1346), Count de Blois, of Dunois and Fréteval, wire of Guy I {{er}} of Châtillon, count de Blois and of Marguerite de Valois (1295 † 1342). He is also grandson of Charles of France, therefore nephew of the king de France Philippe VI.

He marries in 1340 with Soissons Jeanne de Hainaut countess of Soissons, Dame of Chimay, which was the girl of Jean de Hainaut, Seigneur of Beaumont and Condé and of Marguerite de Soissons. Louis and Jeanne had three children:

  • Louis II († 1372);
  • Jean II († 1381);
  • Guy II;
Louis Ier of Blois-Châtillon is killed the August 26th 1346 with the Bataille of Crécy. Jeanne de Hainaut remarie with Guillaume Ier de Namur, count de Namur.
