Biography

Louis II of Bade succeeded his father in 1852. The same year he was declared inapt to reign for mental deficiency. His/her young brother, Frederic Ier de Bade (1826-1907) ensured the regency of the Grand-Duchy until his death which has occurred in 1858.

He was honorary citizen of Karlsruhe.

Louis II of Bade belonged to the fourth branch of the Maison of Bade itself resulting from the first branch of the ducal House of Bade.
