Louis III of Trémoille
Louis III of Trémoille , noble French of the 16th century, born in 1521 and dead on March 25th 1577. Wire of François of Trémoille, Viscount of Thouars and Anne of Laval, it marries the June 29th 1549 Jeanne de Montmorency (girl of Anne de Montmorency (1492-1567) and of Madeleine of Savoy).

He is thus duke of Thouars, prince of Talmond and Tarente, count of Taillebourg and Benon, lord of Gençay (1542 - 1550), baron de Sully and baron de Craon and baron of Marans and baron of Noirmoutiers.
Biography
He accompanied the dolphin with the voyage by Perpignan (1542), served against the English in Picardy and was one of the four barons given as an hostage of the Sainte Bulb, at the time of the sacring of Henri II, and one of the hostages of the peace treaty concluded in 1542 between France and the England. He was useful, in Italy under the Maréchal of Thimble, and was with the catch of Ulpian.
In 1560, he is general lieutenant of Poitou and of Saintonge, its company and that of the lord of Fayette then hold garrison with Étampes. The garrison of Louis III had a sergeant and a furrier who took care to ensure the supply of the troops. The men of Louis III were placed with the hotel of the Bard and the municipality of Stamps, not to wake up the popular discontents, provided at the expenses of their maintenance.
It was charged, in 1567, of the command of the countries located along the the Loire, was used under the duke as Anjou and was killed in front of Miss, of which it made the seat, the March 25th 1577, at the moment when the city went.

He married the Jeanne 6/29/1549 of Montmorency (Oct. 1528-3, 1596) girl of Anne duke of Montmorency and Madeleine of Savoy (little girl of Philippe II of Savoy). They had five children of which:

- Claude of Trémoille, duke of Thouars which follows,
- Charlotte-Catherine of Trémoille (1568- August 28th, 1629), it married the 3/16/1586 Henri Ier de Bourbon-Cop.
