Louis Guiguen

Louis Guiguen was born on June 23rd 1910 with Lorient (Morbihan) and deceased with Ploemeur on May 4th 2001.

He was honorary of the Parliament, old Membre resistant, interned, former deputy of Morbihan and former city council man of the town of Lorient.

Accountant of formation, it is mobilized in 1939, prisoner in 1940. He escapes from the camp of Jarne and returns on Lorient occupied by the Nazis. As of July 1940, it begins its clandestine activity against the occupant with propaganda brochure distributions calling with the fight and approving the patriotic action of the Général de Gaulle, leads actions of sabotage to the base under marine of Keroman like on coaches transporting of the German weaponry. It organizes groups of resistant under the aegis of Front National (of the time).

Decree on September 24th, 1942, it remains with the prison of Lorient then is interned with the camp of Voves (Eure-et-Loir). It is transferred on November 18th, 1943 to the camp from Pithiviers (Loiret). Released by the action of Resistance, on August 9th, 1944, it organizes on August 11th around Orleans an armed group which it places under the command of the commander ftp " Claude " with the rank of lieutenant. The group having been dissolved, it is folded up on the face of Lorient with weapons and luggage and arrives at Pontivy (Morbihan) on August 25th, 1944 or it finds its family taken refuge (his Henriette wife and her 3 daughters Roselyne, Denise and Anik; 2 wire will come after the war to increase the family, Michel and Loïc). Affected with the 1st Company of 6th Battalion FFI, it fights on the face of Lorient, then becomes voluntary agent of the 2nd Office and takes part in the recovery of weapons held by groups of resistant.

Louis Guiguen is elected appointed of Morbihan on October 21st, 1945, re-elected on June 2nd, 1946, on November 10th, 1946 and on June 17th, 1951 until December 1st, 1955 (there will be and remains to date the only deputy Communiste elected in Morbihan).

During these 10 years, Louis Guiguen will be a popular, active deputy near the population and of humblest. He takes part in large social progresses of the Release and will be co-signatory many private bills: right to vote of the women, the Social security, the vacation and social rights granted paid… In same time, Louis Guiguen was city council man town of Lorient in this hard time of the Après-guerre. Its action for the social progress and peace was constant and exemplary and its rich and active course with the services of all was worth well deserved honors to him.
