Louis François Elie Furrier

Louis François Elie Furrier , count of Montmarie, born the March 12th 1771, military French.

It made its first weapons in the cavalry, traversed all the lower ranks and was named in 1804, chef' of squadron, assistance-of-camp of the marshal Lefebvre and knight of the Légion of honor.

Become colonel of the 28e dragons, it was announced in the various combat which preceded the Siège by Dantzig, and was pointed out by brilliant loads which it carried out against the Prussian S.

The May 9th 1809, it was high with the brigadier general row of . Created Baron of the Empire and Officer of the Legion of Honor, it was distinguished in the Campagne from the Tyrol.

In 1810, the Montmarie general passed in Spain, where it succeeds in freeing the Fort of Morello close Valence. It was still mentioned for its bravery with the Combat of Vinaros, the seats of Tarragone and Figuières, and particularly with the Bataille of Sagonte, following which it was created commander of the Legion of honor.

During the countryside of France, it was in charge of the command of Vitry, which it evacuated the February 5th, with the Prise of Clary (surroundings of Laon) it made captive 7 officers and 250 soldiers.

Under the Restoration, Mr. de Montmarie belonged to the military household of the king, with the title of lieutenant of the Bodyguards (company of Wagram) and of Chevalier of Saint-Louis; few days afterwards, it were created large officer.

With the news of the unloading of Napoleon i, it was promoted with the rank of lieutenant-general. It followed the duke of Berryer, accepted in 1817 the title of count; later it was named general inspector of infantry and Commandeur of Saint-Louis in 1825. Appointed since 1824, he always voted with the ministry.

The Montmarie general is on the framework of retirement since the July 27th 1835.
