Louis Eugene Marie Bautain

Louis Eugene Marie Bautain , philosopher and French theologist, born with Paris the February 17th 1796 and deceased the October 15th 1867.

In 1816, it exerts as professor of philosophy to the royal college of Strasbourg and, starting from 1817 with the faculty of letters. Of 1822 with 1824, its courses are suspended, it would have sapped " bases of the religious beliefs and morals, by denying the power of the reason ".

Bautain continues then medical studies and, converted of Catholicism, thinks of the priesthood. The bishop the Pappus of Trévern can order it the December 20th 1828. In 1830, the bishop entrusts the direction of the Saint-Louis small-seminar to him. The March 12th 1841, the Bautain abbot leaves Strasbourg following a theological conflict with the bishop.
