Louis-Luc Loiseau de Persuis , born with Metz the July 4th 1769 and died in Paris the December 20th 1819, is a Musicien French. Violonist, Leader and of chorus, teacher, Type-setter and theater director, it engaged in various activities referring itself to the music, but without illustrating themselves truly in any.

Biography

After a first musical formation in its birthplace, Persuis joined Paris in 1787 and between with the orchestra of the Opéra in 1793. It makes all its career in this institution, where it is named chief of chorus in 1803, then leader in 1810, to replace Jean-Baptiste Rey. It also occupies with the Opera of the administrative offices: manager, general inspector of muic in 1816, manager of the scene and the personnel of the artists April 1817, then directing single from September 3rd, 1817 to November 13rd 1819, date on which a disease, which was to be to him fatal later a few weeks, obliges it to give up it.

Type-setter, Persuis counts with his credit Ballet lyric S and several works, operas and light operas. Its greater success is the Triumph of Trajan , in collaboration with Sweat, created in 1807 and remained very a long time with the poster. Between 1810 and 1815, Persuis was the type-setter more represented with 157 representations, and this success is largely due to the Triomphe of Trajan . For the Op3era Comique, Persuis was especially appreciated with the Théâtre Favart. It also adapted other works, for example the Oratorio the Crusaders of Stadler.

Persuis also taught. Appointed professor of Song to the Conservatory of Paris, it must leave its station in 1802. Its name is again proposed for a school of song of the Opera, which was not finally created. Its functions of chief of chorus however gave the opportunity to him to train the chorus-singers.
