The stage Louis-II is a stage intended for the practice of many sports in principality of Monaco. It was inaugurated the January 25th 1985. Its capacity is of 18.523 sitted places.

Description

This enclosure is mainly used by the club of Football of the Sports association of Monaco.

This stage also accommodates meetings of Athlétisme and the final of the Supercoupe of the UEFA of Football.

It is also equipped with a room being used to the players and to players of Basket-ball and Handball, with a swimming pool (small basin), of a basin of dive, halls sports, squash or fencing.

It also comprises the administrative offices of the ACE Monaco, a certain number of administrations Monegasques and of an anglophone private university, the International University off Monaco (IUM). The lawn rests on a concrete flagstone which is in fact the roof of the car park located in lower part. Because of this, the club of the ASMFC encountered many problems with its lawn and has to be equipped with a revolutionary tool, the Mobile Lighting Rig (MLR), this machine, reproduced the rays of the sun and makes it possible to optimize qualities of the lawn. It is named in reference to the prince Louis II of Monaco which made build the old stage of the principality also bearing the name of Louis-II Stage.

In order to distinguish them, one names today this first stage, which was shaven to leave the place to a shopping mall, two museums and a versatile room, “old Louis-II Stage”.
