Louis-Guillaume Ier de Bade
Louis Ier de Bade (Ludwig Wilhelm von Baden-Baden), known as Louis the Turk (Türkenlouis) by his close relations victoriously to have fought Turkish or Louis the Red by the Othomans because of his visible red waistcoat by far (clothing of Uniforme) that it covered on the battle fields, born the April 8th 1655 with Paris, and died the January 4th 1707 with Rastadt, is margrave de Bade of 1677 with 1707.
Biography
Its name was chosen by his/her grandfather the count Wilhelm margrave von Baden-Baden (1593-1677), and its godfather (Ludwig XIV) Louis XIV king de France.
Ludwig Wilhelm is the son of the prince Ferdinand Maximilian von Baden (1625-1669) and of the princess Louise Christine of Savoy-Carignan (1627-1689), sister of the prince Eugene Maurice of Savoy-Carignan (Soissons) the father of famous the Eugene of Savoy-Carignan, count de Soissons.
For family reasons, the prince Ludwig Wilhelm von Baden under the influence of his mother refuses to follow the count Wilhelm margrave von Baden-Baden, therefore to leave Versailles to go to Germany (cold and misty country…, according to its dires). Léopold Ier names it lieutenant-general of army of all the imperial troops. In recognition for its many victories against the Turks it is decorated with the Ordre of the Golden Fleece.

Very active, vigilant, always on its horse by all times, he became a large soldier. Shortly after its marriage with charming the Sibylla Augusta , Ludwig Wilhelm leaves the August 19th 1691 in war against the Othoman S, and obtains its greater triumph at the time of the Bataille of Slankamen (Serbia) in the North-West of Belgrade. For that the emperor Léopold Ier names it lieutenant-general of army of all the imperial troops, titrates exceptional because it was given only five times in one century. It is during the Bataille of Blenheim, decisive combat also known as the battles of Höchstädt , and which take place the August 13rd 1704, which Ludwig Wilhelm was mortally wounded. Transported in its town of Rastatt, he succumbed of the continuations of his wounds the January 4th 1707.
Tomb
The tomb of Ludwig Wilhelm is in the church of Baden-Baden (Stiftskirche) where one can see his epitaph engraved on a furnace bridge of style baroque representing justice, courage and wisdom three symbols allotted to his character. Its internal Heart and its bodies was buried in the monastery Lichtenthal which was the worship place of the family.
Ludwig Wilhelm von Baden belonged to the remière connects Maison of Bade itself resulting from the first branch of the Dynastie of Habsbourg, It belonged to the line of Baden-Bade known as line Bernardine , this line died out in 1771.
Rastatt
