Louis-Ernest Dubois (born on September 1st 1856 with Saint-Calais, the Sarthe - died the September 23rd 1929 in Paris). He was archbishop of Bourges, of Rouen then of cardinal Paris and .
Biography
After having studied philosophy and theology with the seminar of the Mans, it was ordered priest the September 20th 1879 and was affected then with a parish in the diocese of the Mans. Starting from 1888, it published the newspaper La Semaine of the fidèle and founded in 1893 “the Historical Union of Maine”. In 1895, it was named honorary canon of the cathedral of Mans. During the years 1898 - 1901, it directed as a general vicar the administration of the évêché of Mans.In 1901, it was named bishop of Verdun, but was discharged from this function to its request. In 1909, Pie X named it archbishop of Bourges, and in 1916 Benoît XV entrusted the to him archbishop's palace of Rouen and created it cardinal-priest attached to the church Santa Maria d' Aquiro. In 1920, the pope appointed it archbishop of Paris. In 1921 he encouraged Scouts de France. In 1926, it represented the pope as a legate with the national congress marial of Chartres. He died the September 23rd 1929 with Paris and was buried in the crypt of Notre-Dame, with his lying with the back of the chorus.
