Louis-Bertrand Castel

Louis-Bertrand Castel (1688-1757) is a mathematician French Jesuit.

In addition to its work in mathematics, variously appreciated, which was worth to him to belong to several erudite Academies in France and abroad, he is the author of an ocular project of Clavecin, based on a correspondence of the colors and sounds, which would have made it possible to the deaf persons to see the music failing to hear it. He was friendly of Jean-Philippe Rameau before a theoretical controversy about the music does not separate them.
