Louis-Antoine Gaultier (1898 - 1970) is a Général of the armed French.

Career

First World War

It prepares entrance the examination of the military special École of Saint-Cyr military school when it is mobilized in 1917. Affected with the 4 {{E}} regiment of zouaves, it becomes successively Caporal then Sergent and Aspirant at the end of the war.

Named Second lieutenant the 1919 with the 1 {{er}} foreign Regiment, it will remain with the |Legion almost all its career.

Interval war

It is useful then in Algérie, then with the Morocco with the 4 {{E}} Foreign Régiment of Infantry.

Captain the March 25th 1932, it leaves the Morocco and the Legion in May 1939 for an assignment with the 91 {{E}} Régiment of Infantry.

Second world war

As of February 1940, it finds the Legion by taking the command of a Bataillon of the 11 {{E}} Foreign Régiment of Infantry during the combat of May and June 1940.

Promoted major the June 11th 1940, it escapes after rendering from its army corps and manages to join the free Zone.

It joined the 2 {{E}} Foreign Régiment at the beginning 1941 with the Morocco. In 1943, transferred to the 3 {{E}} Foreign Regiment, it joined, with its unit, the Régiment of walk of the Foreign legion. Chief of staff of the regiment, it is promoted Lieutenant-colonel the December 25th 1943. With died of the chief of police, it takes the provisional command of the regiment, December 1944 at March 1945 before giving it to the Colonel Olié.

The June 25th 1945, it is named Colonel with the 21 {{E}} Régiment of Infantry.

Post-war period

In December 1945, it east takes the command of the Dépôt common of the foreign regiments (DCRE) to Sidi-beautiful-Abbots. It is under its command and penny impulse that will be created white Képi, the monthly magazine of the Foreign legion.

It leaves definitively the Légion the June 2nd 1950, at the end of its time of command.

It is then named assistant of the Général ordering the subdivision of Montpellier, before taking its retirement like Général, on July 1st 1955.

Reprocess

The September 17th 1966, it is elected president of the Fédération of the companies and friendly of former legionaries.

In December 1969, it leaves the presidency of association and dies in May of the following year with Toulon.
