Louis-Alexandre de Cessart
Louis-Alexandre de Cessart , (1719, Paris - 1806, Rouen), was a French engineer of the Ponts and Chaussées.
He is used in the gendarmerie of the House of the King and combat with the battles of Fontenoy (1745) and Raucoux (1746).
He enters in 1747 to the school of Perronet (which will become National school of the Highways Departments) in 1760). He takes part in the Encyclopédie with Perronet and Jean-Baptiste de Voglie.
He is named Sous-ingénieur of the Généralité of Turns in 1751.
He is in particular the originator of several bridges on the the Loire, of the Pont of Arts to Paris, of the first project of dam of Cherbourg, and various quays of ports of the North-West of France.
