Lote

The lote (lota lota) , also written burbot with the Canada, is a Poisson of rivers and lakes. One finds it in fresh and clear water lakes (Léman, Annecy, Le Bourget, St-Jean) and rivers; sometimes in brackish water. Its color varies yellow with the brown one. It measures on average 55 cm for an average weight of 950 G. The lote should not be confused with the burbot, which is the trade name of the angler. True the lote belongs to the family of gadidées (Morue, etc).
