Lortac
Robert Lortac (1884 Cherbourg-1973), pseudonym of Robert Collard , was writer, draftsman (in Fillette , for example), portraitist, critic art, scenario writer, French pioneer of the cartoon, in particular advertizing.
It began its first cartoon in 1914. After its meeting with Emile Cohl, it created its own production company in 1919. The Lortac workshop was in the Twenties a rich person crucible it only in France with time-where the young organizers of then learned their trade on the heap: they had Rigal names or Payen, Chaval, Ragonneau etc… It carried out several cartoons of fiction thus that the company Pathé integrated later in the filmathèque 9,5 mm Pathé Baby. Among the most known, one can retain the cicada and the ant , the lion and the rat , Toto cook , etc
In 1922, it published a satirical newspaper of current events in cartoons the Duck in movies, projected in room with the Pathé current events.
It is also known to have written, under its name, the novel Démonax, which it illustrates (Tallandier - Great adventures, 3rd series, n° 16) in 1938. It publishes also detective novels and of Science-fiction, in particular the adventure will begin this evening (Colbert Editions) in 1943, and the convicts of the sky (Editions Metal n° 4) in 1954.
In years 1950 and 60, he wrote many scenarios of cartoons for Artima, of which majority of those of Météor (more than 80%), like those of Fulguros of Brantonne in the booklet Sylvie. He was also a prolific scenario writer for the Nickelled Feet of Rene Pellos and Bibi Fricotin of Pierre Lacroix (for the magazines Merry Jeunesse ).
