The loricifères are microscopic animals (from 0,1 to 0,5 mm), of world distribution, which live on marine sediments, They are composed of two parts the introvert and the abdomen, covered with a “lorica” made up from six to 30 rigid plates. They carry chitinous scalides used for classification. Males and females are of the same size.
