Lori with yellow collar

The Lori with yellow collar ( Lorius chlorocercus ) is a Psittacidae of the subfamily of the Loriinae.

Description

Lori with yellow collar is close to the Lori of the ladies from which it is characterized by a broader yellow collar and black marks in the zones périoculaires.

The youthful ones do not present these spots and their collar is marked little.

Habitat

This bird lives in the primary and secondary forests up to 1.000 m of altitude.

Distribution

Lori with yellow collar is present in the Solomon Islands, in Guadalcanal, San Cristobal and Malaita.
