Lori de Duyvenbode

The lori of Duyvenbode ( Chalcopsitta duivenbodei ) one is psittacidé alive in the wet forests of New Guinea and Indonesia.

Description

It is 31 cm long for an average weight of 130 G. It is of color dark chestnut with feathers oranges around the nozzle and on the edge of the wings. The nozzle is black.

Distribution and habitat

He lives in North of New Guinea and in Indonesia. He lives in lower part of 200m of altitude in extreme cases of the forests.

Food

He nourishes fruits, seeds, buds, of pollen and nectar.

Lifestyle

He lives in couples or small groups. He gathers in great groups including with others loris at the time of the meals. He is always in activity.

Reproduction

Brooded is of two eggs; duration of 24 days incubation.
