Lophopyxidaceae

The family of Lophopyxidacées is an small family of plants Dicotylédone S which includes/understands only one Espèce: Lophopyxis maingayi .

It is a liana of the tropical areas, provided with gimlets, originating in Malaysia, the Solomon Islands and islands Caroline.

The traditional classification of Cronquist (1981) place this kind in the family of the Célastracées and in the order of the Celastrales .

The phylogenetic classification of APG (1998) does not accept this family, but the Classification APG II (2003) place this family in the order of the Malpighiales .
