Lopes handbook

Author of fictions, poetries and tests, Manuel Lopes is one of the founders of the modern Littérature capverdienne and also one of the creators, with Baltasar Lopes da Silva and Jorge Barbosa, of the review Claridade .

Manuel Lopes wrote its texts in Portuguese, while using expressions creole S.

After having made its secondary studies with Coimbra (Portugal), it returns to the Cape Verde and works in an English company. In 1936 it founds Claridade . In 1944 it leaves for the the Azores where it lives until 1959, date on which it is fixed definitively at Lisbon.
