Lonicera caprifolium

The chèvrefeuille of the gardens ( Lonicera caprifolium ) is a climbing plant, woody, null and void, very rustic, originating in Europe and the west of Asia. It belongs to the family of the Caprifoliaceae .

Its sheets are opposed, from 3 to 10 cm length, ovals with obovales, of greenish grey color. The sheets located on the top of the stems are soudées.

Description

  • Flowering : estival. The flowers from 2 to 5 cm length are laid out in verticils. They are tubular and present two lips cream-coloured white to yellow tinted of pink. They release a very pleasant perfume.
The bays which succeed to them are orange red.
  • Size : The plant can climb up to 6 m in height.
