The village, boxed in a basin, includes/understands in its center, which is also the level low, a war memorial which, though modest, was (and is perhaps always) the gathering place of the inhabitants each July 14th. This day there, the mayor of the village quoted the name of the men fallen during the war, and, with each name, “Died for France” was stressed. After this enumeration, the Mayor asked for one minute of silence, that all the village respected religieusement, then… the first notes of the Marseillaise resounded, and each one listened. Then, the children were invited to taste a delicious brioche and glass of lemonade, the adults glass of alcohol, the whole offered by the Town hall. Longwé has also a remarkable church and several laundrettes with the four corners of the village.

Personalities related to the commune

Longwé is not the cradle of any major celebrity. However, one can say without fearing the exaggeration, that each inhabitant or almost knew to mark the memory by his picturesque personality. Of Longwétard one can say that they are good and interdependent, but like always in shift, their strong character makes that thousand adventures proceed there at the same time.
