London cowboys

The London Cowboys are a group of Rock' roll which was made hear 1982 with 1986. Formed by Steve Dior (singer) and Barry Jones (left-handed guitarist in the Paul junior) the group leaves its first album, " Animal pleasure" in 1982. This title and the photograph of the small pocket, drawn from the film " The tattered dress" , give the tone. It will be a disc resolutely rock' roll where the song/title of the album but also of the pieces like " Hook line and sinker", " Reggae cop" or " Wow wow, yes oui" illustrate the philosophy of the group which finds its slogan in before last piece of the disc: " It' S got to Be now gold never! That' S my design for living room! ". Tony James with low and Terry Chimes (beater of the Clash at their beginnings and their end) composes a rhythm section relentless.

It is not the same on scene since the duet Dior/Jones, who composes all the titles, will remain the hard core of the formation and will be surrounded for it by many " remplaçants" , going even until engaging a fan bass player present in the room at the time of the ènième defection of the titular bass player of then. Although Jones changes his cords in front of the public when it breaks a bus of it has only one guitar and that the group is sometimes unable to reach the requètes of the fans who claim a piece appearing in the repertory (the members " additionnels" group did not repeat it or do not know it quite simply), the concerts of London Cowboys are a concentrate of energy and rock'n'roll as one sees little of it and the imperfections are gummed by osmosis between the singer and the guitarist and the aggressiveness of the unit. One finds this environment on the album " One stage" left in 1986 which ends in a resumption of " Search and destroy" to make fade Iggy and its Stooges. Between these two discs, which more or less mark the beginning and the end of the career of the group, in 1984 a short album will leave 7 titles entitled: " Tall in the saddle" who continues to dig the furrow of the rock' roll and or one finds Glen Matlock, bass player and type-setter of the Sex Pistols, with low on all the pieces.

This formation leaves a small discography (3 albums and 7 45 turns on the label Underdog) and one can think that, without the instability of the line-up which characterized it, it could take a choice place between the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith as much thanks to its compositions exciting that by the personality, the voice and even the physique of the singer who had obviously fallen into the same musical barrel as Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler when he was small. The albums, left in 33 turns in the beginning, were republished in 1992 in the form of 2 compilations: - " Wow! wow! Yes!! Yes!! " who takes again the entirety of the " Live" and a " best off " of the 2 albums in studio. - " The underdog recordings" who takes again the 2 albums in studio.
