London Mozart Players

The London Mozart Players is one of principal the Chamber orchestra English. Since 1989, it is in residence with Croydon (suburbs of London).

History

Founded in 1949 by the Violonist and Leader Harry Blech, the unit is today the oldest chamber orchestra of England. It specialized very early in the interpretation of works of Mozart, Haydn, Schubert, Beethoven and their contemporaries.

Following the example Academy off St Martin-in-tea-Fields directed a long time by Neville Marriner, the orchestra plays on modern instruments.

The orchestra, which occurs through all Great Britain, made its beginnings in front of the public Viennese of the prestigious concert hall of the Musikverein in 1996, then with the Festival of Salzburg in 2003.

With Jane Glover, cycles devoted to works of Mozart and Haydn gained sharp critical successes.

Today, Matthias Bamert completed the recording of discs devoted to the symphonies of contemporaries of Mozart (of which some in first world):

Carlos Baguer, Christian Cannabich, Muzio Clementi, Adalbert Gyrowetz, Michael Haydn, William Herschel, Franz Anton Hoffmeister, François-Joseph Gossec, Leopold Anton Kozeluch, Franz Krommer, Josef Myslivecek, Václav Pichl, Ignace Pleyel, Antonio Rosetti, Antonio Salieri, Carl Stamitz, Jean-Baptiste Vanhal, Samuel Wesley and Paul Wranitzky.

After the concertos for piano, the leader and pianist Howard Shelley continue a cycle devoted to works of Johann Nepomuk Hummel, with there too of many first to the disc (of which music of the ballet the magic Chime ). One can also quote his successful integral of the concertos for piano of the Irish type-setter John Field.
