Lon Nol
Lon Nol , born the November 13rd 1913 with Prey Veng (Kampuchea), made its studies in a French college of Saigon. He undertakes then a career in the public office. Cumulating the stations and going up quickly in the Kampuchean political circle, he becomes Minister for Defense in 1955 under the mode of the prince Norodom Sihanouk. He is then chief of the armies and valley of the relations with many officers.
He cumulates then various stations with the government until becoming Prime Minister in 1966. He is expelled in 1967, for his political ideas during one tended enough time.
But it returns in 1969 and its decision is made. Thanks to its relations, it gains sufficient influence to deposit the government of the Prince. It founds a military regime anticommunist then (it had already been recalled in 1969 to fight against the Communists) and enters in war against the Nam North-Vietnamese soldier. At the sides of the Americans, he will fight in parallel against the rebels Khmer Rouge and against the incursions Vietnameses. But vis-a-vis the rise of the opposition, the American logistic assistance is not enough and the government collapses a few days before the fall of Phnom Penh, invested by the Khmer Rouges the April 17th 1975.
Lon Nol leaves in Exil initially to Hawaii then in 1979 to Fullerton in California. It dies there the November 17th 1985.
