Lomonosov medal

The medal Lomonosov , baptized in the honor of the scientist and Russian Polymathe Mikhaïl Lomonossov, is decreed every year since 1959 by the Academy of Science of Russia (in the past Academy of Science of the USSR) for exceptional work in the field of sciences and the social sciences. The academy decrees two medals each year: one with a Russian scientist, and the other with a foreign scientist. One should not confuse the Lomonosov medal with the Prix Lomonosov, decreed since 1866.
