Lomatia hirsuta

The Lomatia hirsuta is a species of tree of the kind Lomatia of the family of the Proteaceae, which grows with the Chile and in Argentine in what one calls valdivienne the rain forest. It has several vulgar or common names regional: Radal , Raral , Nogal LED on , woodland Nogal , Ralral or Radan .

The radal pushes under extremely varied conditions, as well of ground as of moisture, being able to reach the height of until 15 m, with a trunk 80 cm in diameter. It is covered with a clear bark gray.

Its medicinal properties most important are antiasthmatic and antitussives.

Its sheets were used like purgative, by the Mapuches, which moreover applied them against the ignition of the trachea, bronchitis and cough.
