Lokomotiv Iaroslavl

The Lokomotiv Iaroslavl (in Russian ЛокомотивЯросла́вль) is a professional club Russian of Hockey. The team evolves/moves in Superliga, which it gained three times.

History

Founded in 1949, Lokomotiv was famous successively Spartak Iaroslavl , Khimik Iaroslavl , HC YMZ , Troud Iaroslavl , Motor Iaroslavl between 1955 and 1964, then took the name of Torpedo Iaroslavl between 1965 and 2000, before taking again its name of origin.

At the time Soviet, the team played primarily in the third division before being promoted in the second division in 1983, then in the first division in 1987. She becomes then in the years 1990 one of best of the league and, in 1997, she is crowned champion of Russia for the first time. The club moves in 2001 Avtodizel Arena towards the new skating rink Arena 2000 and gains the championship of Russia in 2002 and 2003.
