Loki Entertainment Software ( Loki Software or Loki Games ) is a Entreprise which contacts other firms, having developed video games with success, to adapt them Windows to the Operating system Linux.
History
Loki is, in the Scandinavian Mythologie, the
God of the Feu and the discord.
Loki Entertainment Software was founded in
August 1998, with like idea making profit with the users from Linux from video games (category of software the least provided on this O.S.). Let us recall that Linux was creates in
1991, that is to say seven years before the foundation of Loki.
As of the first year, the play Myth was carried under Linux. After having functioned four years, the Loki company was liquidated. It made gift of the source codes to each editor whose plays had been carried by Loki, so that these editors can continue to propose Linux versions.
To facilitate the bearing of the plays, it was at the origin of the library OpenAL ( open audio library ) which is used today by Creative Technology and Apple Computer).
