Lockroy

Joseph-Philippe Simon , known as Lockroy , is a Comédien and Dramaturge French born with Turin (Italy) in 1803, died with Paris the January 19th 1891.

It began with the Théâtre from Odéon then passed to the Vaudeville and the Comédie-Française before being devoted entirely to the writing. Author of many light comedies, which some in collaboration with Eugene Scribe, one also owes him the booklets of Maria de Rohan of Gaetano Donizetti (with Badon, 1843), Good evening Mr. Pantalon of Albert Grisar (with Moreau, 1851), the Dragons of Villars of Louis-Aime Maillard (with Eugene Cormon, 1856), the Queen Topaz (with Leon Battu, 1856) and the Wicked fairy of Victor Massé (with Hippolyte Cogniard, 1859) and Suzanne of Emile Paladilhe (with Cormon, 1878).
