Description
- the Triangle of summer is with the top of the heads for the observers of the Northern hemisphere. Vega of the Lyre is the most brilliant star of the sky. It starts to decline west coast. From Vega, one can easily locate with the zenith two brilliant stars, Deneb of the Cygne and Altair of the Aigle.
-
Northern Side, the head of the Dragon begins its decline with the West (between Vega and the Grande Ourse), and Céphée apprète to culminate itself in the East (in the alignment of Altair by Deneb).
-
In the prolongation of the nose of the Large Ourse, one " trace an arc until Arcturus, the brilliant star which one sees high in the sky west coast. Spica, of the Virgin , lay down one hour ago.
-
the East is dominated by the Grand square of PEGASE. On the basis of his diagonal, one can locate towards the South the weak constellations of the Verseau and the Capricorne, and this alignment is prolonged until the Sagittarius and with the Scorpion, passing to the South. In the other direction, one starts to go up the diagonal of Andromède, towards Algol, of the constellation of Persée, and Capella of the Cocher.
-
Fomalhaut, of the southern Poisson, can be located in the great alignment of the Southern horizon, which starts from Arcturus (lying down in the West) to go up along the base of the Serpentaire, through the Sagittarius, to fall on Fomalhaut, and for the observers located at the South, on the beginning of the Baleine which starts to rise to South-east.
-
Southern part, the Sagittarius is culminating. This southern constellation is not completely visible beyond 40°N, but the part hidden by the Southern horizon is not very spectacular.
-
For the observers located in the southern hemisphere, the Paon is culminating full South.
