Manzat is a commune of the Puy-de-Dôme, in Auvergne, one finds there:
The Rock
the Rock is a Hameau located at 700 meters of altitude, on Right Bank of the brook of the Ganne, in the south-east of Manzat, near the exit of the highway 89 (connecting Lyon with Bordeaux via Clermont) and of the rest area of Manzat.
In 1840, one found, with the Rock , 88 coins baronnales struck in Dauphiné and Provence, of 1340 with 1380, had, the majority by Mr. Bouillet, of Clermont.
Montel
Montel is a locality, formerly called Monteil . The name comes from the occitan montel which means " small colline" , because it is located on a hill dominating the borough of Manzat at 650 meters of altutide. One finds there the vestiges of a medieval tower of the 12th century.
The December 17th 1462, the Fief of the Monteil belongs to Jehan of Monteil. This last Marie with Antoinette of Feuillade. The stronghold passes to their son, Gaspard of Monteil, rider, alive in 1507, died without posterity. The sister of Gaspard, Marie of Monteil Marie towards 1510, with Pierre Astorgue, rider, Lord of Montifaud. The field passes to the son of those, François Astorgue, rider, Seigneur of the Monteil , married towards 1548 with Catherine de Vallat. Their only daughter, Lady of the Monteil , wife in first weddings Gilbert de Brosson, rider then Gilbert de Montrognon, rider, Lord of the Farmhouse, deceased the August 23rd 1600. The field passes to the son of Gilbert de Brosson, Pierre de Brosson, rider, married with Léonne of Beaufort. Their son, Pierre II of Brosson, rider, Lord of the Monteil , alive in 1639, wife Marguerite de Brosson.
The December 28th 1691, the Fief of Montel is sold by Gabriel Rance with Jacques Gérauld, middle-class man of Riom.
Cheix
Cheix is a village of the commune of Manzat located at 640 meters of altitude. It draws its name from the nature of the ground and of the Occitan will cheira which means basaltic casting. One finds, at the 17th century, the orthography Leschers . The village was a stronghold under the Ancien Mode.

Vaudelins
Vaudelins , in the past Vodelins , is a village of the commune of Manzat, located at 770 meters of altitude to 1,5 km in the south of the borough of Manzat. The village is located at the south-east of a wooded mountain called Frête which culminates to 791 Mr. Vodelins were a stronghold before the French revolution.
Jean de Boucherolle, rider, Seigneur of the Vodelins in 1341 married Jacqueline de Bonnevie. Rene de Boucherolle, his descendant, Lord of the Vodelins , married, in 1731, Gilberte of Peyroux, of which it had: Charlotte, Lady of Vaudelins and Rochegude, married to Claude of Aix, last lord of the Vodelins in 1789.
Montiroir
Montiroir is a hamlet located at 695 meters of altitude, in the North-West of the commune of Manzat, on the side of the volcano of the Puy de Montiroir.
Under the Old Mode, Montiroir was a stronghold known under the name of Montiroy . Hugues Astorgue, rider lord of Montiroy , married PC of May 28th 1475 his/her daughter Anne Astorgue 15 years old to Bertrand Mayet, rider lord of Villatelle. Jean Chrétien de Macheco de Marcilly husband of Gilberte Antoinette Dagonneau, girl of Antoine and Marie-Antoinette Pellisier, pays homage to the Count d' Artois on March 30th 1775 for the grounds and seigneureries of Montiroy , Bourgnon, Chéry and Bleeds It.
