Lobo (comics)
Lobo is an extraterrestrial mercenary of the US cartoons (Comic S). This Anti-héros was imagined by the artist Keith Giffen and the writer Roger Slifer.
The character
Lobo is Czarnian having an exceptional force and supers capacities. Lobo was always a malicious boy liking free violence and the intoxication. To kill is an end for him besides its nickname is Khundian " that which devours your entrails and in is always satisfied ". Always arrogant and egocentric person and seeking to satisfy his most primary needs. He is the last of Czarniens which he all killed with a mortal insect that he itself created. However the Czárnia planet was a model in all the galaxy of harmony and of peace, not of wars and death was only one option there, almost all its inhabitants were immortal, they had the capacity to reproduce by the creation of clones with simple blood drops. But Lobo was born different and, hardly born, it devoured the fingers of the midwife and killed her doctors. After having left its planet towards new horizons, Lobo became an bargain hunter accepting the most dangerous missions and most pitiful.
At Lobo all is in disproportion, its violence, its vocabulary and its humor (fatty), its not-morality, its misogyny and even its grotesque graphics. All in the series is laughable because ridiculous. But it is saved by its ethics, it has a word which is worth gold.
It has as enemies: Vril Dox, Bludhound, Etrigan, General Glory and Goldstar.
Leading history
It makes its first appearance at cd. Comics in the series of the Omega Men in 1983. Initially conceived like a parody of Wolverine of the Marvel Comics, it is victim of its success. At the end of the cycle of Omega Men in 1988, Lobo becomes a regular character of the league L.E.G.I.O.N and its successor R.E.B.E.L.S until 1990. It has then its own series Lobo: the last Czarnien under the direction of Simon Bisley and Alan Grant. They will then make it evolve/move in several mini-series and of the special issues such as “Lobocop” (a parody of Robocop), “Blazing Chain off Coils” where it takes a job in a harem, “Paramilitary Christmas Special” where it is engaged by a rabbit of Easter to kill the Father Christmas and in a American Gladiators '.
For this period and until the end of its regular series he was a special guest (Guest star) in other series of cd. but also with characters of other publishers like The Mask (Dark Horse Comics), Judge Dredd (2000 AD) or with The Authority (Wildstorm).
At the time of the crossover cd. vs. Marvel it fought against Wolverine and lost the combat because of the vote of the readers. On the same occasion, within the framework of the Amalgam Comics rising from the crossover, appeared Lobo, the Duck , delirious fusion with Howard the Duck of Marvel Comics.
P' tit Lobo and Slobo
Between 2000 and 2001 Peter David introduced into his series Young Justice , the character of P' tit Lobo which is not of other than Lobo transformed into teenager. It has to stop the character at the request of cd. because Lobo was to become again adult for the series “Lobo Unbound”. It created thereafter using a Slobo easy way a clone missed by P' tit Lobo, character who was destroyed by Darkseid in 2003
Other media
Lobo also made its appearance in the cartoons of the Adventures of Superman/Batman of the Warner Bros. Pictures.
A mini-series in flash of 14 episodes was also to create by the Warner Bros, available only on Internet. Warner it is hastened thereafter to remove it of his site, and this for obscure reasons (probably omnipresent violence in this series).
One can currently only this get it on certain fan-sites.
