Loïc Caradec

Loïc Caradec is a navigator French born the March 4th 1948 with Paris and deceased at 38 years the November 14th 1986 at the time of the Route of Rum.

Engineer Supélec of formation, it was one of the architect S, with the cabinet Graal , of the maximum Catamaran Royale builds with the building site Multiplast in 1982, of which it was skipper. He gains in 1984 the first edition of the Transat Quebec-Saint-Malo. But at the time of the test 1986 of the Road of Rum, the sailing ship, of which the length was carried to 85 feet (25,90 m) and equip with a gigantic mast wing, is turned over tragically in the heavy weather.

It had founded the production company and of mediatization of nautical events Royale with Philippe Facque.

The principal mole of the port of the Trinité-sur-Mer bears its name.

  • 1977/1978: Whitbread on Gallic II (ex PEN Duick III) with Eric Loizeau;
  • 1979 : skipper with Alain Labbé of the Trimaran to foils Hydrofolie drawn by Xavier Joubert and built with the building site Pichavant ;
  • 1981 : skipper of Royal (Trimaran of 18 m) built to the building site Fountaine Pajot ;
  • 1984 : winner of the Royal Deckchair Quebec-Saint-Malo on II Catamaran of 22 m;
  • 1986 : winner of the Twostar (deckchair in double) on Royal II with Olivier Despaigne;
  • 1986 : Record of the Royal crossing of the Atlantic on II with Philippe Facque in 7j 21:00.
