Living room-of-Provence (in Occitan Of Provence According to Provença according to the traditional standard or Seloun de Prouvènço according to the Standard mistralienne) is a commune of the Rhone delta which belongs to the community of communes Agglopole Provence.

History
Charles IX passes in the city at the time of royal sound Tour de France (
1564 -
1566), accompanied by the Cour and Large by the kingdom: his/her brother the duke of Anjou, Henri de Navarre, cardinal of Bourbon and
Lorraine.

- the Castle of Empéri . Dominating the old city, it is the largest medieval castle of Provence of the 12th century at the 13th century, mentioned for the first time at the 10th century, the castle was the place of residence preferred of the archbishops of Arles formerly under the suzerainty of the Germanic Roman Emperors, from where its name of “Empéri”. The archbishop of Arles Louis Aleman died there of the Peste on September 16th 1450. Many famous characters remained there of which Frederic Barberousse, the king Rene of Anjou and François Ier and the queen Claude in 1516. Medieval part in the first court, formerly occupied by a 7 depth meters ditch which justified the presence of a Pont-levis, at the 16th century, the castle is embellished of an exceptional Gothic chimney. With the Revolution, after the death of the last archbishop, the castle becomes property of the city. The earthquake of 1909 damaged the building, two turns were destroyed as well as part of the rampart S.
- the church Saint-Michel . Built at the 13th century, it presents a transition style between the Romanesque art and the Gothic of Provence. It has two bell-towers including one with arcades (known as also bell-tower with comb), the second was added to the 15th century to receive the clock of the city. The gate of Romance style is remarkable by the quality of its sculptures. In lower part, is the Paschal lamb surmounted of a Maltese cross carried by a pole. A Carolingian knife and two imps (recalling that the Evil exists but that it must remain out of the holy places) appear in the top of the arc. The octagonal tower, northern side, make it possible to support the assumption of a construction templière.
- the Fountain Moussue . The fountain existed already at the 16th century. It is only after the Second world war that concretions limestones, then foam and the vegetation developed, thus giving him the shape of a mushroom. In spite of a moderated climate, it happens that stalactites are formed when it freezes.
- the carries Horloge . It was built on the old door Farreiroux, vestige of the ramparts, to replace the Horloge church Saint-Michel. The work begun in 1626 and is completed in 1664. Its door comprises a niche which shelters a Madonna. The escutcheon of “the law” replaced that of the king, scraped in 1792. The door of the Clock entirely was restored in 2004.
- the Collégiale the St. Lawrence . The current monument, much vaster, was built on the site of old a Chapelle of the 13th century. The archbishop of Arles Jean de Cardonne posed the first hones the March 22nd, 1344; work lasted 100 years. The building collapsed at the beginning of the 15th century; thirty years after, the cardinal German Louis, archbishop of Arles, lance the rebuilding which will finish in 1480. The building is set up into collegial in 1499. It was the theater of violent one engagements during the wars of the league, in particular during the battle with the duke of Épernon, chief of the members of a league, who in vain tried to cut down the bell-tower. It currently shelters the tomb of Nostradamus.
- the carries New Bourg . A rampart dating from the 12th century surrounded the city, several doors gave access to the city thus. This one is beside the town hall and gives its name to the administrative services located beside the door. Under the arcade, one can see a statue of black Vierge. This door was classified Historic building in 1926.
