Live After Death

Live After Death is the first album live - if one excludes the maxis 45 turns - British group of heavy metal Iron Maiden, left the October 14th 1985. It was recorded at the time World Slavery Tour, turned promotional of the album Powerslave, the 14, 15, 16 and March 17th 1985 with the Long Beach Arena (California, the USA). However the fourth face of vinyl was recorded with the Hammersmith Odeon with London.

With the Rock'n'roll in Rio (2002), it is one two lives essential of the discography of the Iron Virgin.

The VHS " Live after Death" was recorded with Length Beach Arena, but on a single date, different from the album. She concludes herself with the title " Sanctuary" that one finds neither on CD nor on the LP.

Small pocket of the album

The double small pocket, which can be appreciated only in the version vinyl, is one of the tops of their appointed illustrator of the time, Derek Riggs. It depicts the rebirth of their mascot Eddie which is extracted from its tomb. The illustration swarms with details which speak only to the fans. One can however note the quotation of the city without name (The nameless city) published in 1921 of the novelist American Fantastique H.P. Lovecraft on the tomb stone:

" That is not dead which edge eternal binds
Yet with strange let us aeons even death edge die."

The exact original quotation is " And with strange… " instead of " Yet with strange… " .

Intro
